Membership Regulations


Japan Moss Art Association (General Incorporated Association)

Based on Chapter 3 of the Articles of Incorporation (hereinafter referred to as the "Articles") of the Japan Moss Art Association (General Incorporated Association), the following regulations are established regarding the acquisition and loss of membership qualifications.

Article 1: Admission Fee and Annual Membership Fee
Applicants for membership shall, in principle, pay the following fees according to the separately defined membership categories:

Regular Member: Admission fee: ¥10,000 / Annual membership fee: ¥12,000
Upon completion of membership procedures, a "Membership Certificate" shall be issued.
Changes to registration fees, admission fees, and annual membership fees require a resolution at the General Assembly.

Article 2: Membership Categories and Qualifications
Membership shall be classified into the following two categories:

Regular Member: Individuals, corporations, or organizations that support the objectives of the Association, apply for membership, and are approved by the Board of Directors. These members shall be recognized as “members” under the General Incorporated Associations Act.

Article 3: Non-Approval of Membership
The Association may reject membership applications under any of the following circumstances:

False, incorrect, or incomplete information in the application form.

Previous revocation of membership by the Association.

Being affiliated with organized crime groups or entities/individuals who pursue profit through fraudulent means.

Any other reason deemed inappropriate by the Association.

Article 4: Handling of Delinquent Members
Members who fail to pay the membership fee by the end of the membership term will have their rights and benefits under these regulations suspended for the following year.

Article 5: Renewal of Membership Registration
Renewal of membership shall follow the procedures established by the Association.

Article 6: Leave of Absence
If a member faces significant difficulty in fulfilling their membership duties due to illness, overseas assignment, childcare, caregiving, etc., they may apply for a leave of absence by submitting relevant documentation.
If the Executive Board deems the reason appropriate, a leave of absence may be granted for a period between one and five years.

Members on leave are exempt from paying membership fees.

Members on leave do not retain the rights and benefits described in Article 2.

Members may return from leave without being required to pay registration or admission fees again.

Article 7: Withdrawal, Disqualification, and Expulsion
A member shall lose their membership status under any of the following circumstances:

Non-payment of the membership fee for more than one year without valid reason.

Approval by the Board of Directors.

Death, declaration of disappearance, or dissolution of a corporation/organization.

In the case of resignation (voluntary withdrawal during the term or expulsion), admission and membership fees are non-refundable.

Article 8: Member Directory
The Association shall maintain a directory listing the names and addresses of members at its headquarters.

The member directory shall be used solely for the purpose of providing services to members of the Association.

Article 9: Supporting Members
Supporting membership approval shall be determined by the Board of Directors.

The annual membership fee for supporting members is ¥50,000 per unit.

Payment is required immediately after the start of each fiscal year.

Supporting members who have paid their dues may receive benefits such as support for exhibitions, training, and educational activities.

Article 10: Miscellaneous Provisions
Matters not covered in these regulations concerning membership qualifications shall be decided by the Board of Directors.

Supplementary Provision
These regulations shall take effect as of May 1, 2019 (Reiwa 1).
